Writers use various types of rhythms and numbers of syllables in order to create these Rhythm and Meter in English Poetry. In a line of poetry, syllables will be grouped together into metrical feet. Rhyme, on the other hand, is the matching up of sounds and syllables, usually at the end of lines. A poetic foot is Rhythm refers to the overall tempo, or pace, at which the poem unfolds, while meter refers to the measured beat established by patterns of stressed and unstressed syllables.
